Module 3 - 121 feedback with sam 


Wednesday i had a 121 with sam i always find sams tutorials most helpful because he really explains in depth about your answers and is so happy to answer any questions you have. 

Bit of detail about my inquiry

My question is - How effective are different learning styles to students?

i have researched into this question loads and i would like to be able to educate all the younger generation of dancers and maybe also some dance teachers who would like to further their knowledge about different learning techniques that maybe they was not aware about 

i have decided the best way to answer my questions was to create a questionnaire which will be aimed at dancers in particular, to get one perspective .I did draft questions for my questionnaire three times to get them correct which was very frustrating, my feedback from sam was they were good questions however I needed to make them open questions rather then closed questions, also my wording on a couple of questions needed to be tweaked so the question was understood, also Sam said for me to group questions together that had similar outcomes or similar wording so my questions wouldn't jump from different subjects. 


However on the flip side i have interviewed three dance teachers ,i would like to get two different perspectives a dancers perspective and also a teachers perspective i think this will help me triangulate and get to answer all my questions for my inquiry 

I am really looking forward to sending my questionnaire out to dancers to get their opinions and see about their own personal journey within dance and also their perspective about they are taught dance

    Hi Olivia, when I got my feedback from Helen she said I had added in far too many questions on my interviews and I realised I had added them to to almost fill time rather than because they were actually relevant. I also found it hard to make sure my questions aren't leading in anyway! I am glad that you are working well with Sam! I have just taken your survey so it was interesting to read this blog after having seen how you maybe adjusted your questions! Good luck

    Hi Olivia, glad you had a good tutorial, it's very helpful when you can answer all your questions.
    I'm happy to be interviewed as I'm more a dance teacher now than a performer, so if it helps I'm happy to do that. I've got quite a lot of opinions of how young students learn, and having taught for almost 10 years now I've also got some views on passing on skills to other teachers. X

 Thursday 29th April  Hey guys  what a module? anyone else feel this? we are so nearly finished this module 2 its nearly the final hand in date not long now thank god! Hope everyone is feeling ok with module 2. I must admit i am feeling so much better now that this modue is coming to an end i final feel set on all my work however i am still going with correction but also i have forgot to fill in the consent form, need to get on with it haha.  some tips Sam gave me was make sure you have a reasonable amount of literature it is OK for dates to be like 2013 but it would be helpful to have some literature up to date so current literature so it correlates with your chosen research question also  i have found that comment most helpful. Sam also said make sure you don just use articles to use books and blogs, make sure you can gather as much information as possible then you will have a stronger data collection. were nearly there girls and guys lets keep going and smash...

 Struggling is an understatement  Having just caught up with the module 3 focus zoom which was a week ago i am completely overwhelmed i feel others are much further in the process then myself which has got me panicking, Helen spoke about having themes in our essay this is when i started to panic i have only written my introduction and my literature review. Then i read another M3 blog she says shes been told the literature is not just one block paragraph it needs to be incorporated throughout my essay which i was worried because i thought i would have to start again. Helens advice was to step back and take a breathe, taking a moment to gathering your thoughts together, she said we have all got so much information however in order to place it in the correct ways we need to step back... i found this so helpful because i was tying to write my essay as fast as possible all guns blazing however i found myself stressing out more and more which left me not being able to write anything...
